Matt is the rector (fancy word for senior pastor) of Church of the Good Shepherd. He grew up in Corpus Christi, TX and graduated with a B.A. in History from Southwestern University in 1994. After coming to faith in Jesus Christ in 1995, he served as a youth minister at Ascension Church in Houston from 1997 to 1999. He earned an M.Div. from Virginia Theological Seminary in Alexandria, VA. He is married to Anne and they have six children. Matt oversees pastoral care, teaching, and preaching, administration, staff, and is committed to his singular passion—exegetical preaching.
Anne assists at Good Shepherd in a variety of ways. She grew up in Mali, West Africa, came to America in 1995 for college, earned a B.A. from Cornell University in French and English Literature, and graduated from Virginia Theological Seminary in 2002 with an M. Div. Anne is married to Matt, homeschools their six children, blogs almost every day, oversees liturgy, music, Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, and makes lots of coffee in the church.
Michael is the Director of Music at Church of the Good Shepherd. He grew up in Illinois in the various congregations his father pastored, finally fixing on Dixon has his hometown. He graduated from the Westminster Choir College of Rider University with a Bachelor of Sacred Music and has over 35 years of experience in every kind of church—Disciples of Christ, Episcopal, Lutheran, Methodist and RCA. He leads Good Shepherd\342s combined adult and children’s choir, and knows every inch of the building’s acoustic possibilities. His singular passion is tuning, servicing, and rebuilding pipe organs.
Stephanie is Administrative Assistant to Matt. She grew up in Columbus, OH and lived there until she was nineteen years old. After a brief layover in Detroit, MI, she moved to Binghamton to be closer to her parents. Upon arriving in 1999, she was soon introduced to her husband, Rich. The Warners have one daughter and have been enjoying the adventures of homeschooling for over a decade. Stephanie oversees scheduling, the church calendar, creating the Sunday bulletins, assisting in keeping the church website up to date, and generally helping to put out fires. When she’s not at Good Shepherd keeping all of the plates spinning, she can be found knitting, gardening, and enjoying every drop of sunshine that Binghamton has to offer.
Jonathan is the pastoral assistant at Good Shepherd, serving and studying under the direction of the Rev. Matt Kennedy. He grew up in Dallas, TX, received his B.A. in Biblical Studies from Liberty University, and is currently earning his M.Div. from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Before coming on staff at Good Shepherd, he served at Arrowhead Bible Camp alongside his wife, Angel. Jonathan assists Matt in preaching, teaching, and pastoral care, oversees the ministry heads, and serves as the youth pastor. In his spare time he loves reading, running, and spending quality time with Angel and their son, Sawyer.
