Scheduling Reminder If you need to make an appointment with Pastor Matt, please be sure to contact Stephanie directly at email@example.com.
Often when people come to speak with Matt after the service on Sunday, he’s already been working for over nine hours, and doesn’t always remember to put it into the calendar. This can cause double bookings or forgotten appointments. Please keep in mind that the office is closed on Mondays and Fridays, but you can always leave a message. Thank you so much for your understanding.
Women’s Bible Study The Women’s Bible Study meets every Saturday morning from 10 to 11AM. Women of various ages join together over coffee and tea, to study the bible, moving book by book, and verse by verse. All women are extended a warm invitation to attend. They are currently studying the book of Amos.
Good Shepherd Youth Group Youth Group meets on Sunday night from 6:00 – 7:30pm at Good Shepherd. Good Shepherd Food Pantry Clothes, food, and shelter are the necessities of life, but food to feed the body is the topic for today. Many families in our church and community don’t have the means to properly feed their families, so pantries like ours are essential to their well-being. Those of us who can afford groceries can help those who can’t by keeping our food pantry stocked with healthy and nutritious foods all year long. Those who have to utilize the pantry appreciate those who keep it filled so much more than they can possibly know.
Items needed: canned meats and tuna, peanut butter, jam/jelly, one box meals, canned vegetables and fruits, rice in small packages, spaghetti sauce, instant milk, instant potatoes, instant breakfast (lower sugar/no sugar), soups and stews, and anything else you’d like to bring.
Personal products, paper goods, and cleaning supplies are also gladly accepted.
Preventing Grace Podcast Did you know that Matt and Anne have a podcast? They talk about everything from church polity to rustic breads. In this week’s podcast, ‘More Josh Harris And Other Things’, Anne and Matt discuss Joshua Harris’ departure from the Christian faith, homeschooling and Sunday School in the 80s, the mass shootings, and more..
You can catch up on all of the older podcast episodes here.

This Sunday’s Sermon will be based on John 8:48-59, and will be given by The Rev. Matthew Kennedy.
The Jews answered him, “Are we not right in saying that you are a Samaritan and have a demon?” Jesus answered, “I do not have a demon, but I honor my Father, and you dishonor me. Yet I do not seek my own glory; there is One who seeks it, and he is the judge. Truly, truly, I say to you, if anyone keeps my word, he will never see death.”The Jews said to him, “Now we know that you have a demon! Abraham died, as did the prophets, yet you say, ‘If anyone keeps my word, he will never taste death.’ Are you greater than our father Abraham, who died? And the prophets died! Who do you make yourself out to be?” Jesus answered, “If I glorify myself, my glory is nothing. It is my Father who glorifies me, of whom you say, ‘He is our God.’ But you have not known him. I know him. If I were to say that I do not know him, I would be a liar like you, but I do know him and I keep his word. Your father Abraham rejoiced that he would see my day. He saw it and was glad.” So the Jews said to him, “You are not yet fifty years old, and have you seen Abraham?” Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I am.” So they picked up stones to throw at him, but Jesus hid himself and went out of the temple.
