Good Shepherd Update: Thursday, April 29, 2010
From Ife:
Dear Good Shepherd,
Here is the update for this week:
Men’s Bible Study and Breakfast is tomorrow morning at 6:30am. All men are invited.
Beginner’s Bible Study is tonight after Shepherd’s Bowl. We are going through the Gospel of John and are beginning Chapter 7 tonight. If you are a new Christian or just have questions about the Bible, this is a great Bible study for you. All are welcome. This is a great Bible study to invite your friends to.
Women’s Bible Study will be meeting at its usual time on Saturday morning at 10am. They are going through Isaiah.
Systematic Theology is on hiatus while Matt is on vacation.
First Light Bible Study holds on Tuesday nights at 6:30pm. We are in the 6th chapter of Ephesians.
Tuesday Morning Bible Study meets every Tuesday at 9am in the parish hall.
Duty Roster: Team Galatians is serving this week. If you have any questions, please contact Pauline King.
This Sunday, May 2nd, Father Bill Day will again be leading worship, and he has graciously offered to lead the adult Sunday School class as well. We’ve been faithful thus far in Matt’s absence in maintaining our attendance at church; this is to God’s glory and our blessing, so let’s keep it up.
Next Sunday, May 9th, we will be celebrating Good Shepherd Sunday. This is a festive day and it is a good day to invite your friends and neighbors to church.
Youth Group Update:
Senior High – Sunday, 6-8pm
Junior High – Monday, 6:30-8pm
Reminder: Beginning in May, New Member Classes: A series of three new/interested members class will be held on three successive Saturdays in May (the 8th, 15th, and 22nd). These classes will be designed to help new members and interested guests integrate into and participate at Good Shepherd. You will learn about Anglicanism in general and about Good Shepherd in particular. If you are not new but still interested, you are welcome to come as well.
Pantry: This Sunday, May 2, English muffins and mini-bagels will available in the GS pantry.
Please save canning jars or glass quart and pint jars for next year’s clam chowder sale. Let Kay Seaman or Bev Williams know that you have brought the jars to church. Jars will be stored offsite.
Office Hours and Availability: I will be in the church office between 2-4pm, Tuesday through Friday. And please call the church if you have any questions or concerns. The church number is 723-8032.
Good News for the Week:
Romans 11:33-36 (ESV):
Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways!
“For who has known the mind of the Lord,
or who has been his counselor?”
“Or who has given a gift to him
that he might be repaid?”
For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be glory forever. Amen.
Remember to invite friends and family to church!
