For the next two Sundays we will be discussing the short, often neglected, New Testament book of Jude. Jude was one of Jesus’ half brothers. To read his writing is to get at least a partial glimpse into Jesus’ own way of speaking and thinking. Jude writes to encourage his readers to hold fast to the faith and to contend (fight) for it in the face of people who’ve come into the church to subvert it. I think as we read it we will see that Jude is quite relevant for us at Good Shepherd and for the Church in America in general.
